Ondo govt seeks collaborative efforts for mineral resources development

The Ondo State Commissioner for Energy, Mines and Mineral Resources, Engr. Razaq Obe has advocated absolute support for the Akeredolu’s administration towards the actualisation of its developmental agenda across sectors particularly, the Energy and Mineral Resources sub-sectors.

The Commissioner who noted with satisfaction the degree of proactiveness so far demonstrated in the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Mineral Resources since its creation about six months ago, said the buy-in of the people would be a strategic component to accelerate the much needed development of the state.

Engr. Obe spoke while receiving in his office in Akure, a delegation from Ese- Odo Local Government Area of the state led by the Chairman of the Council, Hon Folawe-Aluko and the Olu of Igbobini, Oba Raphael Oyedele with some High Chiefs.

The Commissioner said effective collaboration between the government and the people is a critical factor required to address the incessant energy crises facing the country at the moment.

Engr. Obe assured that the State Government would not turn down suggestion to have community-based groups in place through which the State Government would periodically interface with the people on progress at making the exploitation of Bitumen beneficial to them.

Earlier, the Chairman of Ese-Odo Local Government Area, Hon Folawe-Aluko appreciated the commissioner for his prompt response which according to her has doused tension among people in the bitumen belt.

While assuring the State Government of the support of his people, the Olu of Igbobini, Oba Raphael Oyedele, requested more of government presence in his domain and capture it as a Bitumen community
