The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources was created on 21st December, 2021 by the Ondo State Government with the intention to formulate, implement, monitor and evaluate as well as supervising, coordinating of activities in the Energy sector.
The Ministry also has an overall responsibility of strategizing, promoting and developing sustainable policies for energy planning to ensure availability of reliable energy for all residents in Ondo State as well as making Ondo State an investment hub in the mineral industry (solid, liquids and gas) with a view to promoting economic growth.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources was constitutionally established to take custody of the divers geological, mineral and energy resources and to ensure their contribution to the State’s socio-economic development.

Ensure provision of safe, reliable and affordable power supply across the state. Deployment of mini grids in areas not covered by the national grid. Provide an enabling environment for the smooth take-off of independent power projects.
Consolidation of re-acquisition of oil mining lease for Ororo marginal field (OML-95). Extinguish continuous oil well fire at Ororo oil field (OML-95). Secure competent, technical and financial partner for Ororo marginal field and OPL-241 assets within the next one year. Drill an appraisal well for OPL-241 and put the two assets to production within the next two years.
To ensure immediate commencement of overdue exploration and exploitation of Bitumen in Ondo State. To serve as intermediary between license companies and Bitumen host communities in the state. To ensure viable investor partnered with state owned (BEECON) blocks for economy drive in Ondo State. To ensure the renewal of expired license and sustainability of further acquired license in Ondo State
