Functions & Responsibilities

The account department within the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is primarily responsible for financial management, budgeting, and accounting functions related to the Ministry’s operations. These responsibilities aim to uphold financial integrity, transparency, and efficiency within the Ministry’s operations. The specific responsibilities of the account department may include:

1. Budget Preparation and Monitoring: Developing the Ministry’s budget based on its operational and strategic needs, as well as monitoring budget performance throughout the fiscal year.

2. Financial Reporting: Compiling financial statements, reports, and analyses to provide insights into the Ministry’s financial health and performance to support decision-making.

3. Expenditure Control: Managing and controlling the Ministry’s expenditures, ensuring compliance with budgetary allocations and financial regulations.

4. Revenue Management: Overseeing the collection and management of revenues related to the Ministry’s operations, which may include royalties from mineral resources, fees, or other sources of income.

6. Financial Planning and Analysis: Providing financial insights and analysis to support strategic planning, resource allocation, and investment decisions within the Ministry.

7. Procurement and Contracts: Managing financial aspects of procurement processes, contracts, and vendor payments in line with relevant regulations and procedures.
